SUPPORT SERVICES FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS

If you are caring for an adult age 60 or over, even if he or she is not living with you, then you qualify for these services.

It's amazing to know that others share your concerns!

  • COUNSELING SERVICES

If you are experiencing stress, relationship difficulties, anger, burnout, or any other problem relating to your role as a family caregiver, we may be able to help.

Under a grant from the National Family Caregiver Support Program, Elderday is able to offer individual and/or family counseling to anyone providing caregiving services to an older adult age 60+ living in Kane County. The person does not have to reside with you or attend Elderday Center.
  • FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUPS

We have three groups that meet on the following days at no cost to you:
    1. The third Thursday of each month at 6 PM to 7:30.
    2. The fourth Tuesday of each month at 10 to 11:30 AM.
    3. A special spouse group is offered the second Thursday of each month from 1:30 to 3 PM.

Meetings may include a brief information segment as well as time to share caregiving challenges and ideas. We may be able to offer care for your loved one during the groups. Please call Kathy Hanlon, MSW, LCSW, at least two days before the meeting to request care. The phone is 630-761-9750.

  • FAMILY CAREGIVER COUNSELING

Counseling is provided by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is completely confidential. There is no cost for these services. Please contact Kathy Hanlon, MSW, LCSW, for information or to make an appointment at 630-761-9750.

  • Support groups meet monthly.

    It helps to share.
